What happens if you put 48 experts within finance and sustainability in one room for 48 hours? The Swedish Institute Sustainability Forum 2016, taking place in Stockholm 23–24 November 2016, aims to find out.
The theme of the 2016 gathering is ‘Money talks – finance for a sustainable future’. During the forum, selected experts from Europe, Africa and Asia co-create and present solutions to identified challenges within the topic of sustainable finance.
Finance and sustainability
Finance plays a fundamental role in creating crucial solutions to support society in achieving a sustainable future. How can businesses and financial institutions harness capital responsibly on the way to a sustainable future? What are the implications of a sustainable future for businesses and financial institutions? These are some of the topics explored.
The participants are mainly alumni from the Swedish Institute Management Programme, but also experts from the finance sector in Sweden. The six themes that the participants’ work cover are ‘financial literacy’, ‘fintech for inclusion’, ‘innovative finance’, ‘transparency’ and ‘responsible investments’.
The forum is a part of SI’s work towards a more sustainable and global business community. It also aims to boost SI’s alumni network of sustainability experts.
