The already largely successful Curators of Sweden brought home more prizes this week. The initiative won gold in three categories at the Spinn competition and has now received almost twenty awards and gained international recognition.
Curators of Sweden is a collaboration between the Swedish Institute, VisitSweden and Volontaire. Since December 2011 a new Swede is selected weekly to takes the reins of Sweden’s official twitter account @sweden, without censorship. The contributors have been selected to reflect values, competence and opinions in a broad range of subjects, everything from HBT-questions to design and innovation.
The initiative has proved extremely successful, the international media attention has been substantial and the Swedish twitter account is at the top of official country accounts according to a recently published Twiplomacy study. Previously Curators of Sweden project has won several awards, amongst others the Grand-Prix of Cannes Lions and gold in the category Corporate image on CLIO Awards – one of the biggest PR and media competitions in the world.
The Swedish Institute is a public agency that promotes interest and confidence in Sweden around the world. We seek to establish cooperation and lasting relations with other countries through strategic communication and exchange. Curators of Sweden is a part of this work.
