The Swedish Institute’s mission is to create interest and confidence in Sweden, Swedish know-how and issues that are relevant to Sweden.
Our information and communication about Sweden must be accurate, and based on openness and authenticity. This has proven especially important in issues related to migration and the image of Sweden. Therefore, SI has developed a broad information material on migration and integration, primarily to enable the Swedish embassies to promote a fact-based and balanced picture of Sweden abroad.
The material includes info graphics, toolkits and a web page on the Swedish migration history can be found on sharingsweden.se.
In the spring, SI will also present new information about the Swedish migration consisting of among other things, the exhibition Portraits of Migration – Sweden Beyond the Headlines containing portraits of people who arrived in the country as asylum seekers and information on the grassroots initiatives in Sweden working for an inclusive society. The premier will take place at the House of Sweden in Washington, where it will be officially opened on 15 March. Exhibition material will also be available as a digital resource on Sweden.se.
